CHAT ROOM ETIQUETTE GUIDELINES
What is “being rude”?
Any unnecessary comments regarding a guest or staff that are offensive, whether true or false. This includes judging our staff and other guests for ANY reason, or just wanting to trigger someone. A staff or a guest ’s personal info, business, or detail does not concern you nor does it benefit you to comment on them. It is best to bite your tongue. Otherwise, you will be warned and possibly booted.
Any ideas that discourage or insult another view or belief. It will only offend and cause distress towards guests and staff and is best taken outside the chat room. If this occurs as a friendly discussion, this will be excused. However, if it becomes a chaotic uproar of swearing and insults, the INITIATOR will be booted IMMEDIATELY.
Making statements that are inappropriate and/or morally flawed. These include statements of a sexual, misogynistic, discriminating, abusive, violent, religious or political nature. This also includes topics that discuss substance abuse. Whether or not you truly believe in this statement will be ignored. Even if it is just an act to "trigger" someone, the INITIATOR will be booted IMMEDIATELY.
Any passive-aggressive comments or actions that intend to indirectly insult or mock another guest or staff. Being a smartass with a big-mouth and no balls will get you nowhere but a boot.
Deliberately and repeatedly ignoring others. It is understandable when you are absorbed in another conversation or, sometimes, AFK. However, if for the whole time of your stay or your employment, no one has ever seen or noticed you greet or nicely converse with another guest or staff, this will be taken as discourtesy.
Insolence from abusing rights and privileges. Whether you are a mod staff member or a guest who thinks just because our staff are obligated to stay within rules, means they could not speak their mind to you, this applies to you. Similarly to how there is a limit in which a staff member could be considered abusive, there is also a limit to what we will consider an abusive guest. Again, if this occurs, you will be warned and possibly booted.
Spamming. It is inconsiderate for other people trying to hold a conversation. It is best to not even think about it. (Triggers are exempted. However, if it is repeated and deliberate, you will get a warning.)
Resisting to do as you are told despite being asked politely. We do not mean you any harm. We only wish to tell you that you might have done something that may have caused distress to someone in the room, whether or not it is intentional. It is not meant to insult you or harm you so please do try to comply. Thank you.
NOTE:
The staff are trained and educated on how to handle conflicts in the café in accordance to café standards. Therefore, any consequences you will experience are not a personal attack on you, but are merely interventions that adhere to café standards and expectations. This is done to keep a peaceful and friendly environment in the Café Nyan. If you wish to stay, these are simple and very doable tips to guide your chat room etiquette.
